Sarfaraz Khan is now in the headlines after scoring 62 runs off 66 balls in the debut Test against England. His mercurial innings caught the eye of Mahindra boss Anand Mahindra. So Sarfraz’s father wanted to give Thar SUV to Naushad Khan as a gift. The young cricketer got a place in the first eleven of the Indian Test team for the first time last Thursday in the third Test match between India and England. Middle order batsman Sarfraz Khan has always been known as a run machine.
Speaking in this context, Anand Mahindra wrote in X Handle, “Never lose your mind. Patience and courage than a father to his child’s quality or can be? We are very proud to present Thar as a gift to an inspiring father if he accepts it.”
The 26-year-old middle-order batsman represented India in the 2014 ICC U-19 Cricket World Cup. He even made his debut as the fourth youngest player in the IPL. It took time to earn a place in India’s Test team, but his hard work and talent overcame all odds and brought him that golden moment in the Rajkot Test. The whole family of Sarfaraz Khan is very excited at this moment of fulfilling his dream. Sharafraz’s father Naushad Khan couldn’t hold back his own tears after receiving the Test team cap.
Incidentally, Mahindra Thar is very well known to Indians as an off-road SUV. The three-door version has been in the market for a long time, but now the five-door model is coming.
