Tata Motors will build a Rs 9,000 crore car factory, employing 5,000 people

Tata Motors has far-reaching future plans for passenger cars. Which proved to meet once more. The Tata Group has signed an MoU with the Tamil Nadu government. This was stated by the organization in an announcement. The purpose of the MoU signing is to build a new manufacturing facility in that state. For this, Tata will invest 9 thousand crore rupees in the next five years.

Tata will build the factory in Tamil Nadu

The company claims that their new factory will create 5,000 direct and indirect jobs. Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin, State Industries Minister TRB Raja, IAS Arun Roy and other Tata officials were present at the signing ceremony.

However, it is not yet clear which car will be manufactured in this new factory of Tata. At present, the company’s portfolio includes various models of passenger, commercial and electric vehicles. Tata recently announced plans to split its passenger and commercial vehicle businesses.

Tata has factories in Jamshedpur, Lucknow, Sanand, Dharwar and Pune. Besides, Tata manufactures cars outside the country in Thailand, Argentina, South Africa and Britain. Tamil Nadu is considered as the most important region for car manufacturing in the country by the manufacturers. Hyundai, Renault-Nissan, Stellantis, Bharat Benz, BMW among others manufacture cars in this state. This time Tata is going to step there.
