Suzuki’s motorcycles and scooters will now run on ethanol in addition to gasoline, saving fuel consumption

Suzuki Motorcycle India has launched updated versions of three two-wheelers with engines capable of running on E20 fuel, considering the increasing environmental pollution. These are – Suzuki V-Strom SX, Gixxer 250 series and Burgman Street EX. E20 means that these models can run on a fuel mixture of 80% petrol with 20% ethanol. Which will help in reducing pollution.

Meanwhile, Suzuki has already launched the E20 version of the Gixxer series, Access 125, Burgman Street and Avenis. And from the third week of June, V-Strom SX, Gixxer 250 series and Burgman Street EX bikes will be available from all Suzuki dealerships in the country. Apart from being able to run on E20 fuel, they also feature engines that comply with the new emission regulations OBD2.

These new emission regulations engines will indicate any problems through a console light on the instrument cluster. In this regard, Debashish Handa, Executive Vice President, Suzuki Motorcycle India said, “This is one more concrete step in our commitment to build eco-friendly two-wheelers. Which will give a better riding experience.”

Suzuki recently updated the Gixxer range in India. The list includes – Gixxer, Gixxer SF, Gixxer 250 and Gixxer 250 SF. The models in this range have added some new features and designs along with new color options. No changes have been made to the engine or gearbox. As before, the Gixxer range of bikes will run on a 250 cc, oil cooled engine. The motor will produce 26 bhp of power and 22.2 Nm of torque mated to a 6-speed transmission.
