Suzuki has announced the recall of Gixxer series 250 cc bike as soon as the mechanical fault was detected. Currently, the Japanese company sells three 250cc bikes in India. The engine is the same but the styling is different. The first is the naked street fighter- Gixxer 250. Next is the fully faired version – the Gixxer SF 250. And finally the adventure bike V-Strom SX 250 built on this same platform. Suzuki has called these three models.
As some problems appeared in the engine of a certain batch of 250 cc bikes, Suzuki quickly got down to solving that problem. The core of the problem is the area adjacent to the engine cam. Since the same 249cc engine is used in all three Suzuki bikes, each model is included in the recall order.
It has been reported that several bikes have been experiencing some abnormalities around the exhaust cam lobe of the engine for the past few months. Even the bikes that have this problem suddenly produce strange noises from the engine along with slight jerking while running. Earlier in April 2021 also three bikes built on the Gixxer 250 platform were withdrawn by the company due to excessive vibration in the engine. This time also the same picture came forward.
Currently authorized dealers of Suzuki spread across India have come to the event to identify the affected bikes of the particular batch and resolve the issue. Dealers of the company have made all arrangements to contact all these bike owners to book service appointment at their nearest service center. All these damaged engine parts will be replaced by skilled employees at Suzuki’s own service center free of charge, the company said.
