Micromax is back in the game with two new devices – Micromax in Note 1, Micromax in 1b. But today, we only compare Micromax in 1b with POCO C3 and Realme C12 because these are the only devices that offer decent specifications in a budget range smartphone category. All three devices come with polycarbonate backs and different finishes. Micromax In 1b has a metallic matte finish and retails in three colour option – Blue, Purple, and Green. POCO C3 features its signature dual-tone design and it is available in Matte Black, Arctic Blue, and Lime Green colour variants in the Indian market. Lastly, Realme C12 comes in a geometric gradient design and sold in a Power Silver and Power Blue colour variants.


In terms of display, All of the three smartphones offer the same 6.5 inches IPS LCD HD+ resolution display with a 20:9 aspect ratio and waterdrop notch design. Though, POCO C3 comes with PANDA Glass protection while Realme C12 has an unspecified version of Gorilla Glass. Hence, All three devices score the same in display quality.


For speed and lag-free experience, The Chinese tech companies provide Mediatek Helio G35 SoC which is coupled with PowerVR GE8320 GPU. Micromax In 1b and POCO C3 paired with up to 64GB onboard storage, whereas the Realme C12 retails only in a single configuration of 32GB storage. Nonetheless, the User also gets an option of a microSD card slot in all three devices to expand the storage.

Realme C12 and POCO C3 runs on their own brand customized skin on top of Android 10 whereas Micromax in 1b comes with stock Android 10 experience out of the box due to which it outperforms the other two devices. It should be noted that the 2GB + 32GB storage variant of Micromax in 1b runs on the Android GO platform.


Coming to the optics, Realme C12 and POCO C3 is equipped with a triple rear camera setup while Micromax In 1b includes a dual rear camera setup. Realme C12 and POCO C3 packs a similar 13-Megapixel primary camera with an aperture of f/2.2. POCO C3 has a 2-Megapixel depth sensor with an aperture of f/2.4 and Realme C12 houses a 2-Megapixel B&W sensor with an aperture of f/2.4. Both of the smartphones also have an additional 2-Megapixel macro camera. On the other hand, Micromax in 1b comes with a 13-Megapixel primary camera and a 2-Megapixel depth sensor.

For Selfie & Videos, Micromax In 1b offers an 8-megapixel selfie shooter compared to the 5-megapixel sensor on the Realme C12 and POCO C3.

Micromax In 1b and POCO C3 fueled by 5,000 mAh battery, while the Realme C12 packs a massive 6,000mAh battery. All three devices support 10W standard charging but there is an advantage of reverse charging feature in Realme C12 and Micromax In 1b. It should be noted that Micromax in 1b is the only smartphone in this price segment that offers a USB Type-C charging port.

Micromax In 1b comes at a starting price of Rs. 6,999 for the 2GB RAM and 32GB storage variant. While the 4GB RAM and 64GB storage variant cost Rs. 7,999. POCO C3 is priced at Rs. 7,999 for the 3GB RAM and 32GB storage variant. The 4GB RAM and 64GB storage variant of the POCO C3 cost Rs. 8,999. The base variant of Realme C12 is priced at Rs. 7,999 for 3GB RAM and 32GB storage while the high end variant of 4GB RAM and 64GB costs Rs 10,400.

All of the smartphones sport similar specifications with minor changes. If you are looking for a humongous battery smartphone then go for realme c12 but if you are looking for 4GB RAM and 64GB storage phone under Rs. 8,000 then Micromax in 1b is your choice, and if you love clicking macro shots then go for Poco C3.
