Be it India or the international market, Royal Enfield continues to dominate the middleweight motorcycle world. They sell about 2 million mid-sizes worldwide every year. They have 10 percent market share worldwide in this segment. They also have a 90 percent share in the mid-weight bike market in India. Royal Enfield aims to further expand its business in the future. For which they are preparing to launch four new models in the current financial year. These include – Himalayan 450, RE Shotgun 650 along with two new models.
Hero, Honda and Bajaj are bringing new bikes to reduce the power of Royal Enfield
Currently, companies like Hero MotoCorp, Honda and Bajaj Auto are keen to tarnish Royal Enfield’s prestige. Together they will launch about a dozen medium weight motorcycles in the next few months. If the news is true, Hero MotoCorp will launch a new model in the segment by the end of this year. Which will be jointly built with American premium bike manufacturer Harley-Davidson.
On the other hand, Bajaj Auto is planning to launch the new generation KTM 390 Duke in late 2023 or early 2024. The Byty will be more attractive with new angular LED headlights, fuel tank with sharp tank shroud, exhaust system and taillights. It has a new trellis frame and aluminum subframe. May come with improved TFT display and tweaked brakes. It will have a 399 cc, single cylinder, liquid cooled engine to provide the power to move forward. From which 43.5 PS of power and 37 Nm of torque will be available.
Moreover, Bajaj has confirmed that it will unveil its first model this month in partnership with British premium bike maker Triumph. which will debut in Britain first. And Honda is working on a new motorcycle based on their 350cc platform. The Japanese company will also bring a new 300 cc cruiser to India.
