Royal Enfield’s new flagship bobber bike Shotgun 650 has been launched in Europe after India. It entered India a few weeks ago. Buying the bike in England will cost 6699 pounds, which is around Rs 7.05 lakh in Indian currency. Shotgun has also appeared in developed countries like France, Italy, Spain, Germany. This Royal Enfield bike is manufactured at the company’s own factory in Tamil Nadu. And from there it is moving to the whole world. Please note, it is being sold in our country at 3.59 lakh taka (ex-showroom).
This is the fourth bike built on Royal Enfield’s 650cc platform. Earlier, the Interceptor, Continental GT and Super Meteor were built using the same platform. Looking at the overall design, the shotgun is actually a bobber style motorcycle built on the Super Meteor.
Royal Enfield Shotgun 650: Design
The bobber-styled shotgun 650 bike features curved fenders, short and wide fuel tanks, wide handlebars and center food pegs. Its rider seat is mounted in a zero floating position to match the design. However, Royal Enfield offers removable rear seat and luggage rack as additional accessories. Ground clearance is only 140 mm. As a result, it is quite difficult to drive Shotgun 650 on high and low roads.
Royal Enfield Shotgun 650: Specifications
The Indian version of the Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 has kept all the features of the European model completely unchanged. 648 cc parallel twin engine is the lifeblood of this Royal Enfield bike. The engine can produce a maximum power of 46.4 bhp and 52.3 Nm of torque. The number of gears in the transmission system is 6. Suspension duties are handled by USD forks at the front and twin shock absorbers at the rear. Braking system includes dual channel ABS with disc brakes on both the wheels. In Europe, the Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 is being sold in single tone and dual tone color options.
