Tata Motors is known for its cars as tough as iron. Being inside their four wheels means feeling safe. Currently the domestic company has the highest safety rating vehicles in its possession. This time they received a special award from Global NCAP (Global NCAP) for making safe cars.
Tata Safari and Harrier won Global Encap's 'Safer Choice Award' for outstanding safety features. Both vehicles received a five-star safety rating last year. They currently have the highest safety score among cars made in India. Tata's two flagship SUVs have scored 33.05 and 45 points in adult protection and child safety respectively in the crash test.

To get the 'Safer Choice' award, several criteria have to be passed. These include autonomous emergency braking, speed assistance, blind spot detection, etc. Advanced Driver Assistant System or ADAS safety features are available on the Tata Safari and Harrier with seven airbags, electronic stability control, Isofix, and adaptive cruise control.

Tata has put a 170 horsepower 2.0-litre diesel engine in both the cars, which is available with a six-speed manual or automatic gearbox option. The Harrier is priced at Rs 14.99 lakh (ex-showroom) and competes with the likes of the MG Hector and the Mahindra XUV700. On the other hand, the Safari is priced at Rs 15.49 lakh. The car competes in the market with Scorpio N and Hyundai Alcazer.
