Kawasaki known for its superbikes has finally announced the launch of their new touring motorcycle, the Versys 1000. This high-performance bike first appeared in Europe. It is also expected to launch in India early next year. Multiple upgrades have been added to make the bike an attractive package.
First, the displacement has increased from 1,043 to 1,099 cc. Although the bore of this inline-four engine remains the same at 77 mm, the stroke length has been increased from 56 mm to 59 mm. Also, it features new camshafts with high-compression ratio, heavy flywheel, narrower intake port and reduced valve lift.
These changes increase the Kawasaki Versys 1100's power output from 118 bhp to 133 bhp. On the other hand, the torque output has increased slightly to 112.5 Nm from 111 Nm. The diameter of the rear disc brake has increased by 10 mm to 260 mm. The bike will get Type-C port for smartphone charging.
The Kawasaki Versys 1100 comes in three variants including Base, S, and SE. The top-spec SE trim gets Showa electronic semi-active suspension and the other two variants get manual suspension with less adjustment provision.
