Priced within the reach of the middle class, which is the best car between Tata Punch and Maruti Ignis?

The latest model in the respective category is the micro SUV. Among which Tata Punch and Maruti Suzuki Ignis are very popular in the market. Tata Punch is ahead in philosophy. Because it is much more interesting. It is based on the HBX concept unveiled at the Auto Expo. Split headlamps are given to accentuate the rugged look. Which has increased the road presence of the model to a great extent. Also Tata Punch is bigger in size than Ignis.

Maruti Suzuki Ignis, on the other hand, has not received any significant updates since its initial launch. But the good-looking bust is taller, so there’s more headroom. Skid plates, roof rails and plastic cladding on the sides are added to the design.

A three cylinder petrol engine is offered in the Punch. It produces a maximum power of 86 bhp and a torque of 115 Nm. It comes with 5-speed manual and 5-speed AMT gearbox options. It is again available in CNG option as well. Its output is 73 bhp and 103 Nm.

Whereas the Ignis is powered by a four-cylinder, petrol engine. Which makes 82 bhp of power and 113 Nm of torque. It is also available with 5-speed manual and 5-speed AMT transmission. Its output is less than Punch.

Tata Punch vs Maruti Suzuki Ignis : Mileage

Maruti claims that its Ignis can run 20.89 km on one liter of petrol. Whereas the petrol manual model of Tata Punch goes 20.09 km. The automatic model has a mileage of 18.8 kmpl and the CNG version has a range of 26.99 kmpl.

Tata Punch vs Maruti Suzuki Ignis: Price

Currently the price of Tata Punch has gone from Tk 6 lakh to Tk 10.10 lakh. On the other hand, Maruti Suzuki Ignis costs Rs 5.84 lakh to Rs 8.16 lakh. All prices are as per ex-showroom price.
