The demand for two-wheelers has really skyrocketed these days. The launch of new models has added fuel to it. India collectively sold 11,10,593 units of motorcycles and scooters in May. As compared to the same period a year ago which was 9,02,842 units. As a result, two-wheeler sales witnessed a 10% rise last month compared to May 2022.
Hero Splendor occupied the first position in the list
As always last month also saw the Hero Splendor occupy the top spot in the list of best selling two-wheelers. It sold 3,42,526 units. Whereas the sales volume in May 2022 was 2,03,365 units. As a result, sales have increased by 30.6% this year. Honda Activa is currently the best selling scooter in the country at the second place in the list. It sold 2,03,365 units in May.
The Bajaj Pulsar range of bikes increased their sales and occupied the third position in the list. Last month they sold 1,28,403 units. The name of HF Deluxe has come to the fourth place. The bike found its way into the garages of 1,09,100 new customers in May. However, last month saw a 14.3 percent decline in sales as against 1,27,330 units sold a year ago.
Honda Shine occupies the fifth place in the list. In the previous month, the bike moved a total of 1,03,699 buyers to new addresses. TVS Jupiter occupied the sixth position in the list with sales of 57,609 units. Suzuki Access comes next. The scooter sold 45,945 units in the previous month.
Bajaj Platina grabbed the eight spot. 42,154 models of the bike were sold in the previous month. Whereas it sold 17,336 units a year ago. As a result, Platina has been able to increase its sales by 143.1% this year. TVS Apache and TVS XL 100 occupy the ninth and tenth positions in the list respectively. Their sales volume in the previous month was 41,955 units and 35,837 units respectively.
