BYD Seal EV is going to enter the Indian market overnight. For information, Build Your Dreams or BYD (BYD) has a fierce battle with Tesla in the global market. The Seal is coming as the company’s third electric model in the country. The booking of which has started from February. The premium sedan EV model is expected to be priced at Rs 55-60 lakh (ex-showroom).
Incidentally, BOID currently has a pair of battery-powered vehicles in its portfolio – the e6 MPV and the Atto 3 crossover SUV. The current prices of these two models are Tk 29.15 lakh and Tk 33.99 lakh respectively (ex-showroom). The BYD Seal EV is expected to come in a single variant. It offers an 82.5 kWh battery pack. It is claimed to run 570 km on a full charge.
The sedan model will come with a rear axle mounted electric motor. Its output is 230 bhp and 360 Nm. This car is capable of accelerating from standstill to 100 km in just 6 seconds.
BYD Seal EV: Features
BYD Seal EV has soft-touch material inside. The dashboard houses a 15.6-inch rotating touchscreen infotainment system, which is also present on the Atto 3. Besides, a 10.25-inch digital driver display, head-up display and two wireless charging pads will be seen.
BYD Seal EV : Safety
In terms of safety, BYD does not have any flaws in the Seal EV. It received a 5-star safety rating in the Euro NCAP crash test. The vehicle passed with 89% and 87% marks for adult and child passengers respectively. The list of safety features includes dual font airbags, belt pre-tensioner, belt load limiter, side airbags, a center airbag, ISOFIX child seat mount, airbag cut off switch, seatbelt reminder, autonomous emergency braking, lane assist system etc.
