Electric Car: The most popular battery car, this company has sold more than 1 million EVs

Nissan Motor Company has reached a new milestone in the electric car business. The Japanese company has announced that it has sold more than 1 million electric models worldwide. Out of which they have sold the most EVs (3.2 million) in the European market. That’s a third of global sales. After that, Nissan sold 2.3 million units of electric vehicles in China and Japan. Again, Nissan has sold a total of 2.10 lakh units of electric vehicles in the North American market. They exported the remaining 10,000 models to different parts of the world.

Nissan’s EV sales cross 1 million

Launched in 2010, the Nissan Leaf is currently the company’s best-selling electric vehicle. In 13 years it has become the companion of more than 6.5 million customers. Nissan sells the car in about 50 countries around the world including America, Japan and Europe. The model has already won several prestigious titles. Eg – ‘European Car of the Year’ and ‘World Car of the Year’.

Another Nissan car that has helped strengthen the company’s foothold in the market is the Nissan Ariya. This all-electric crossover model was launched in 2022. It has got the latest design and technology of the company. Like – e-40RCE All Wheel Control and ProPILOT 2.0 Advanced Driver Support. The Ariya EV is available in two powertrain options in the international market – single motor rear wheel drive and twin motor four wheel drive. It has 63 kWh and 87 kWh battery packs respectively. whose outputs are 217 bhp and 242 bhp.

Again, the top model of the Ariya EV with its 87 kWh battery pack produces 306 bhp and 600 Nm of torque. The range is 513 km. And the company’s first electric mini vehicle in Japan is Sakura. The car received 50,000 bookings for its powerful acceleration and cabin design.

Nissan’s plan

The Japanese company plans to launch 19 new electric vehicles by the 2023-24 financial year under the Nissan Ambition 2030 campaign. Nissan is also thinking of launching a car with its own all-solid-state battery. Meanwhile, the alliance of Nissan and Renault has said it is making electric cars for sale in the Indian market.
