Ola Electric is already in the headlines with the launch of the first electric motorcycle. At the same time, they released a teaser of a new platform for the electric scooter, called Gen 3. The company will bring a range of e-scooters under this Gen 3 platform, including sporty and touring. model. It will have 4680 battery cells and a more compact powertrain design.

Note that this new cell is not only larger in diameter. Also, it has more energy retention. This Made-in-India battery cell is called Bharat Cell. It has five times more energy density than Ola's current 2170 cell. Apart from providing more range, it can be charged in less time. As a result, electric scooter users will be less worried. The structure has been refined to integrate the motor, battery, and electronics setup.

One of the notable architectural upgrades on the Ola Gen 3 platform is the close integration of the motor and battery pack. Ola's powertrain is more compact and efficient, as the distance between these critical components has been reduced. This design will optimize the space as well as reduce the weight of the vehicle. As a result performance and efficiency will increase. Ola is also going to reduce the number of wire harnesses.

Ola Gen 1 and Gen 2 platforms used 10 and 4 processors respectively. In Gen 3 it will be reduced to one. The company's upcoming electric scooter will feature an advanced driver assistance system similar to that of expensive cars. Notably, Ola's first e-bike Roadster is available in three variants – Roadster, Roadster X, and Roadster Pro. Prices range from Rs 74,999 to Rs 2,59,999 (ex-showroom) for the top-end model. The company claims a range of 579 km on the Roadster Pro model.
