Oben Rorr: Pulsar-Apache in danger, delivery of 187 km mileage e-bike starts from July

Homegrown startup Oben Electric launched its first e-bike, the Rorr, in India in March last year. Pre-booking started soon after the launch. After almost 16 long months, the company has finally announced that the delivery of the bike will start from next July. It is said that this work will start from the first week of July. Oben will hand over the keys to the new electric bikes to customers from their first outlet in Bengaluru. Oben already has around 21,000 bookings. Therefore, the distribution network of various big cities of the country will be used to deliver this large number of orders, according to company sources.

Delivery of Oben Rorr e-bikes starts from July

Ex-showroom price of Oben Ror E-Bike with subsidy is Tk 1.50 lakh. Competitors include Tork Kratos R, Hop Oxo, Revolt RV 400 and many more electric bikes. More than 95 percent of the design and manufacturing of the bike is done using the company’s own machinery, which relies on indigenous technology. Also, they have taken more than 21 patents for the bike.

Oben Rorr: Specifications and Features

A 10kWh PMS motor provides propulsion power to the Rorr. Which produces a maximum power of 13.4 bhp. It has the ability to accelerate from 0-40 km/h in just 3 seconds. The maximum speed of the bike is 100 km per hour. But the most significant thing is the charging time. It is possible to fully charge the bike in just 2 hours. In this case, the company’s own developed charging technology has played a significant role.

Oben Electric has used its own Fast Home Charging technology to provide fast charging in less time while fast charging technology is used everywhere. As a result, the powerful 4.4 kWh battery can be fully charged in just 120 minutes with the help of a home charger. It is claimed that the bike can travel 187 km on a full charge under proper driving conditions.

Besides, the Oben Rorr uses telescopic forks at the front and monoshock suspension at the rear, disc brakes at both wheels, digital instrument console. It is available in a total of three color schemes. Recently, Oben Electric raised an investment of Tk 40 crore. This money will be used for expansion of the factory. As a result of which the annual production capacity will increase by 1 lakh units.

The money will also be used for retail expansion and distribution. Oben Electric stated that it has already selected specific avenues for research and development in which it will carry out development and testing activities for the prototype version of its next model. It is targeted for launch by 2024.
