This new feature of WhatsApp is currently available in beta version. That means a certain number of users are now getting access to this feature. In this case, iOS device owners can download the latest update of WhatsApp (WhatsApp for iOS beta version number 23.11.0.76) from the ‘TestFlight’ app. And if you are an Android device user, then you need to download the latest ‘WhatsApp for Android Beta Version 2.23.12.13’ from the ‘Google Play Store’ to use this feature.
According to the screenshot shared by WABetaInfo, WhatsApp is offering two options – standard and HD quality – for sharing photos in the chat box on their platform. That is, under the new feature – standard photos with a resolution of 1600×1052 pixels or HD photos with a resolution of 4096×2692 pixels can be sent.

The report also states that sending photos in the chat window will be set to standard quality by default. As a result, users have to manually select the ‘HD’ option to send high-quality images. In this case, the ‘HD’ tag will be automatically attached to the sent image. So that the opposite person can understand that the received image is of HD quality.
This new feature of WhatsApp is currently only available for sending pictures. However, it is reported that this feature will be brought to the video soon. But until then, you have to use the ‘document’ option to send high-quality video content on WhatsApp. Also, the new feature will not be useful in sharing HD photos in status.
