No one near Bajaj, TVS, Ola Electric sold a record scooter

India’s electric two-wheeler market witnessed significant growth in February. Sales of e-bikes and e-scooters were seen to grow by 24% last month compared to the same period in 2024. Figures from the central government’s Vahan portal say 81,963 EV two-wheelers were sold in February. Let’s see which companies were in the top five in terms of e-scooter sales last month.

Ola Electric

Ola Electric confirmed the top position in the list in terms of sales in February, 2024 as well. The company managed to hand over the keys to two wheelers to a total of 33,722 buyers. As a result, their share in the electric scooter market has increased to 41.1%. In January, 2024 it was 39.54%. This increase in sales is believed to be due to giving discounts.

TVS Motors

TVS Motor has been able to increase the sales on the back of iQube’s popularity. The company sold 14,499 battery-powered scooters in the previous month. However, the market share fell from 18.6 percent in January to 17.7 percent in February.

Bajaj Auto

Bajaj Auto is third in the list. Currently their only electric scooter Chetak sold 11,618 units last month. This year compared to January which is 876 units more. As a result, the market share increased from 13.21 percent to 14.2 percent.

Ather Energy

Bengaluru-based electric scooter maker Ather Energy has emerged as number four in the fray. A total of 8,983 customers purchased their electric two-wheelers last month. Currently their market share is 11%.

Greaves Electric

The last place on the list i.e. number five is Greaves Electric. Their electric two-wheeler manufacturing arm Ampere managed to sell a total of 2,606 e-scooters last month. Compared to January, their sales increased by 255 units. As a result, they currently have a market share of 3.2%.
