The BS6 policy was introduced by the central government five years ago to control the amount of polluting emissions emitted by vehicles. Currently all vehicles with new engines sold must comply with this rule. Now the second phase of this policy is underway called On-Board Diagnostics or (OBD II). Japanese two-wheeler giant Suzuki is updating all their motorcycles to comply with this new year. The company launched the new Suzuki Gixxer 250 in India yesterday.

2025 Suzuki Gixxer 250 is now OBD 2 Compliant The motorcycle will now cost Rs 1,98,000 (ex-showroom). Booking has already started. And deliveries are expected to start soon.However, apart from the new emission norms, no other upgrades have been added to the bike. The design remains the same. It has flat LED headlights, muscular fuel tank and tank extension.
Suzuki is selling the Gixxer 250 in three colors in India – Metallic Matte Black No. 2, Metallic Matte Bordeaux Red and Pearl Glacier White. The bike uses a 249 cc single cylinder engine for high-performance. The powertrain is capable of producing 26.5 bhp at 9,500 rpm and 22.2 Nm of torque at 7,500 rpm. The engine is mated to a six-speed gearbox.
Special features of the Suzuki Gixxer 250 include smartphone connectivity system with LCD console, dual-channel ABS and LED lighting. The hardware setup also remains unchanged. The bike features telescopic front fork, monoshock suspension, front and rear disc brakes and alloy wheels.
