Every year in India, countless people lose their lives in road accidents. The number is increasing day by day due to the increase in the number of vehicles. The center is alarmed by what it sees. Last year, Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari announced the introduction of at least six airbags in every passenger car sold in the country. Currently many companies are launching vehicles with adequate security cover. But even in this scenario, there are several cars sold in the Indian market that continue to disappoint in terms of safety.
Maybe many people don’t know that they failed the Global NCAP crash test. It is also being sold. But if you know how weak it is in terms of security, maybe it wouldn’t have happened. The report also identified five vehicles as either Most Un-Safe or Least Safe.
Maruti Suzuki Eeco
First of all, let us tell you that Maruti Suzuki cars are the most in this list. Among which Maruti Suzuki Eeco is positioned first. It failed to earn a single star in a 2016 crash test for adult occupants. Again it got only a two-star rating for child passengers. But the popularity of the five-seater as a budget-friendly car is skyrocketing. There is a large cabin. A 1.2-litre, four-cylinder engine is available. Price Rs 5.32 lakh (ex-showroom).
Maruti Suzuki S-Presso
Maruti Suzuki S-Presso, the best-selling mini SUV in the Indian market, has a 1-star rating from NCAP. Scored 20.03 out of 34 for adult passengers. Whereas it got only 3.52 points for child passengers. The car is currently priced at Rs 4.26 lakh (ex-showroom).
Hyundai Grand i10 Nios
One of the most popular models in the hatchback market is the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios. It received a 2-star rating in the Global Encaps crash test. It scored 7.05 out of 17 for adult passengers, and only 15 out of 49 for small passengers. Hope you have got a fair idea about the safety of the car by now. It is priced at Rs 5.92 lakh (ex-showroom).
Maruti Suzuki Alto K10
Despite being one of the best-selling cars in the Indian market, the Maruti Suzuki Alto K10 lags behind in terms of safety. The car managed to earn 2-stars in the NCAP crash test. It scored 21.67 out of 34 for adult passengers, and only 3.52 out of 49 for small passengers. The car is priced at Rs 4 lakh (ex-showroom).
Renault Kwid
Renault Kwid is famous as one of the cheapest and stylish cars in the country’s market. But the car ranked fifth in the list for less safety. Holds a two-star rating. It scored 7.78 in the adult passenger crash test. Again, child passengers got only 19.68 points.
