WhatsApp is working on a new feature. With this feature, WhatsApp users can send messages and calls to third-party apps like Telegram, Signal, iMessage and Google Messages. The instant messaging platform has already started working to provide this facility, Meta said. In a blog post, the company said that this new feature will maintain the privacy and security of users. Also, Meta has shared images of how chats from other or third-party apps will look on WhatsApp and Messenger.
WhatsApp users will get the facility to call other apps
Meta said notifications will be available on WhatsApp and Messenger to notify users about messages from other apps. That is, this notification will inform that a message has arrived from another app. From here, WhatsApp users can decide whether to accept or reject the message.
Again, users can create separate folders for chats of other apps if they want. Users will get 'rich messaging features' like typing indicators, read reception, direct replies and reactions while chatting with users of third party apps.
On the other hand, Meta has confirmed that WhatsApp users will be able to make calls to other or third-party apps from 2027 onwards. In fact, Meta has decided to bring these major changes to WhatsApp and Messenger due to the Digital Market Act of the European Union.

In another news, WhatsApp is soon going to add call link feature in group chats. The new feature was reported by WhatsApp's feature tracker platform WABetaInfo. According to reports, with this feature, users can create call links in group chats.
