Maruti Suzuki: Maruti Suzuki made 8 lakh cars in India and set a target to export them abroad

Everyone knows this, India’s largest passenger car manufacturer, Maruti Suzuki. In terms of sales, they have maintained the top position in the country’s market for a long time. This time, this Indo-Japanese company has set a big target by focusing on exports. Maruti Suzuki India has announced plans to ship three lakh passenger vehicles out of India in the financial year 2024-25. Not only this, exports are also expected to reach 8 lakhs by 2030.

Maruti Suzuki’s new plan to increase exports

Maruti Suzuki has managed to increase its exports in recent years, according to a recently published report. They managed to deliver 2.83 lakh units of vehicles to the overseas market in FY 2023-24 despite various setbacks in the industry. It is 42 percent of India’s exports of passenger cars abroad in a year.

In this context, the company’s executive director (corporate affairs) Rahul Bharti said, “About three years ago we were exporting 1-1.2 lakh vehicles annually. We were able to increase the export volume to 2.59 lakhs in 2022-23 to expand the business. 2.83 lakh in 2023-24.”

Incidentally, Maruti Suzuki has been leading the export of passenger vehicles in the Indian market for four decades. But even so complacency could not engulf the organization. In the previous financial year they exported a lot of cars to South Africa, Saudi Arabia, Chile, Mexico, Philippines, Indonesia and Ivory Coast. Among them – Baleno, Dzire, Swift, Ertiga, Grand Vitara, Jimny, Celerio and S-Presso.
