India’s largest passenger car maker Maruti Suzuki currently has 3,86,000 bookings. All the orders for the recently launched Jimny SUV have also been added to the list. According to company sources, the Jimny SUV has received more than 31,000 orders so far. The car has been launched at an ex-showroom price of Tk 12.74 lakh. Buyers have to wait at least 7-8 months to get the keys due to such high bookings.

Maruti Suzuki’s other two latest SUV models Brezza and Grand Vitara have accumulated bookings of 55,000 units and 33,000 units respectively. For the Fronx crossover, the figure is 28,000 units. Currently, buyers have to wait up to 4 months to get the car keys.
Maruti Suzuki expects to increase its market share by up to 50 percent on the back of the new launch models. Meanwhile, the Indo-Japanese company currently holds 65 percent of the market in the non-SUV segment. Maruti Suzuki has succeeded in increasing its share in the SUV market from 10.2% to 25%.
On the other hand, the company’s best-selling multipurpose vehicle or MPV Ertiga has accumulated bookings of 85,000 units. And the CNG version of the car currently has a waiting period of 8 months. Maruti Suzuki has focused on increasing the number of its flagship vehicles to increase sales. They are launching the luxury MPV Invicto on July 5.
