Mahindra Thar 5 Door: The wait is over! Mahindra announced the launch date of the new Thar

As one of the competitors of the Maruti Suzuki Jimny 5-door model, the five-door version of the Mahindra Thar has been heavily speculated for a long time. Earlier reports claimed that it could hit the market in 2024. Mahindra & Mahindra has announced its launch date. After a meeting yesterday, the company opened up about when its larger Thar SUV will hit the roads in India. Mahindra executive officer and CEO Rajesh Jejurikar confirmed that the car will be launched in the middle of this year. Presumably, between July and August.

Usually on Independence Day i.e. 15th August every year the organization has a big surprise. So it will not be surprising if the car appears on that date. Jejurikar also said that the sale of the current three-door version of the Thar will also continue with the upcoming Thar model. Mahindra has been testing the Thar 5-door for the past several months. Mahindra 5-door Thar : Design

Needless to say, the upcoming five-door model will sit on top of the existing three-door version. It has a new circular LED head lamp set with projector setup. The design of the front grille is expected to be slightly changed. A new set of alloy wheels will also be offered. Tailgate. Notably, the car’s rear door handle is positioned vertically near the C-pillar.

Mahindra 5-door Thar : Interior

The cabin of the five-door Thar will be arranged similarly to the three-door version. But the novelty is the dual tone theme dashboard. The biggest change has to be the new larger touchscreen infotainment system. which appeared with the XUV400 Pro. It will support wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

Mahindra 5-door Thar : Engine

Powering the Mahindra 5-door Thar are a 2.2-litre diesel engine and a 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine. This same engine option is also available in Mahindra’s 3-door Thar, Scorpio-N and XUV700. However, the engine output is expected to be slightly tuned.
