Tata Tiago iCNG AMT, India’s first CNG car with automated manual gearbox, made a grand debut in the Indian market a few days ago. Tata Motors has always wanted the iCNG portfolio to be packed with features like the petrol car. Let’s take a look at the five key features of the Tata Tiago iCNG AMT.
Tata Tiago iCNG AMT : Automatic Gear and Engine Specifications
Keep in mind that automated manual transmissions are technically not fully automatic, but they do give the flavor of an automatic gear. That’s why it has a missing clutch pedal. Tiago is the first CNG hatchback to offer a 5-step AMT. The car’s 1.2-litre three-cylinder engine produces 72 bhp and 95 Nm of torque in CNG mode.
Tata Tiago iCNG AMT: Price and Variants
Tata Motors has priced the Tiago iCNG AMT between Tk 7.90 lakh and Tk 8.90 lakh (ex-showroom). The price is Rs 55,000 more than the manual variant. It is available in three variants – XTA, XZA+ and XZA NRG. Again the variant available in dual tone color is XZA+ DA.

In terms of technology and comfort features, Tata has left no flaws in the Tiago iCNG AMT. The top trim features include automatic climate control, steering mounted controls, rain sensing wiper folding ORVM and automatic headlights. Besides, the car has height adjustable driver seat, all digital instruments, cluster, tire pressure monitoring system and rear parking camera.

Like Tata’s other CNG models, the Tiago iCNG AMT can be started in CNG mode. Switching from CNG to petrol version is very easy with the help of single ECU. It can run 28.06 km on 1 kg of fuel. A pair of 65 liter CNG cylinder tanks are placed under the floor board. It has increased boot space.

The face features a pair of front airbags, electronic brakeforce system, anti-lock braking system, corner stability control, all seat belt reminders and ISOFIX.
