Lohia Machines Limited or LML, a popular Indian brand of the 90s, came back into the limelight in 2022 with their Star electric scooter concept. They have now got the design patent of the scooter fueling the launch speculation. LML Star is expected to take India's EV two-wheeler market by storm.
The original lML Star scooty was sold in various versions from 1999 to 2017. They have brought back the Star name in alliance with a company called Saera Electric Auto Private Limited. In its new incarnation, LML has teamed up with designers who have worked with Ducati, Ferrari, Yamaha, Kawasaki to design it.
LML Star comes with maxi scooter design. It has flat floorboards. Red accents can be noticed under the seat and on the pillion grab handle. The front apron features a dual-tone design with DRLs and photo-sensitive headlamps. After the launch, competition will continue with Ather Energy and Ola Electric.
The company is yet to reveal anything about the performance of the LML Star electric scooter. As a result, nothing can be said about the range, battery or top speed. However, it is said to have a mid-mounted motor, which will power the rear wheels through a belt drive system. Also, the hardware setup includes telescopic forks, south-mounted monoshock, and single disc brakes on both wheels.
