The new Royal Enfield Classic 350 was launched in India on the last day of August. So Enfield looks like Jawa is going to bring a new motorcycle to the country market. It will launch on September 3 i.e. tomorrow. The bike is expected to be a new variant of the Jawa 42 Roadster. Let's see what Jawa 42 has to offer.
Design
The teaser gives an idea of the styling elements of Jawa's new bike. The design has a sporty feel. Large Jawa sticker present on teardrop fuel tank. While the side panels and fenders look similar to the standard Jawa 42, the upswept twin exhaust and re-profiled seat set it apart. Even the multi-spoke wheel design is different and appears to have a machined finish.
Features
It is not possible to tell now what kind of features Jawa's new motorcycle will have. But it can get full LED lighting, digital instrument cluster, dual channel ABS and assist and slipper clutch for smoother clutch operation.
Engine specifications and hardware
Like the new Jawa and Yezdi motorcycles, the new Jawa 42 Roadster is likely to get an updated 334 cc, single cylinder, liquid cooled engine. Suspension will get right-side forks at the front and twin springs at the rear. For braking, two wheels will have a disc brake.
Price and competition
The price of the new Jawa 42 in India is likely to start between Rs 2.10 lakh to Rs 2.20 lakh (ex-showroom). The bike will compete with the Royal Enfield Classic 350 in the Indian market.
