The automobile industry in India is gradually regaining its lost ground. Overcoming the impact of the Corona epidemic, sales are seen to increase at a significant rate. As a result, various companies continue to express their various milestones in sales. This time, the Indian branch of the South Korean automobile company Kia announced a new success. The company said that they have reached the milestone of selling 10 lakh cars in India.
Kia has produced 10 lakh cars in India
Kia entered India with the launch of the Seltos in August 2019. The car really proved itself as a blockbuster. The car has sold more than 5 lakh models in 46 months. Then Carnival and Sonet were launched in 2020. Kia Carens and EV6 come to market in 2022. Kia rolled out its 10 lakhth car from Anantapur factory in Andhra Pradesh today. Which was the facelift version of Seltos.
Seltos alone contributed 5,32,450 units out of the 10 lakh sales. Sonet sold 3,32,450 units. Carens and Carnival sold 1,20,516 and 14,584 units respectively. Meanwhile, the all-electric model Kia EV6 is imported after being manufactured abroad, and sold in the country. Tae Jin Park, Managing Director, Kia India said, “This is a great moment for our employees, partners and all. We owe it to customers to give support and love.” He is optimistic about Kia’s future in India with Seltos.
Apart from the production of 10 lakh cars, Kia India has also announced the target of taking its market share to 10 percent in the Indian car market. Currently, they are continuing the process of increasing the number of sales and service network from 300 to 600. Production of 1 million cars within 4 years is truly commendable.
