Kia is recalling cars one by one due to mechanical defects, repairs will be free

Kia India is recalling 4,358 Kia Seltos CVT vehicles in one round due to oil pump issues. One of the most popular compact SUVs in the South Korean company’s Indian portfolio is the Seltos. All models covered by the recall order have been told to bring them to the service center with the promise of free repairs.

According to a statement released by Kia India, Seltos CVT models manufactured from February 28 to July 13, 2023 may be affected. As a result, the overall performance of the electric oil pump connected to the transmission system is likely to be disrupted due to improper functioning. The agency will directly contact the owners of the defective vehicles.

Incidentally, the Kia Seltos base model in India is currently priced at Rs 10.90 lakh (ex-showroom). Which went up to a maximum of 20.30 lakh rupees. The HTX variant has the only CVT gearbox. Price Rs 16.60 lakh (ex-showroom). It used 1. 5 liter petrol powered engine, which is capable of producing a maximum of 113 bhp and 144 Nm of torque. It costs to buy this version with CVT gear box.

It may be noted that by June last year, Kia India had announced a recall of 30,297 models of their Carens MPV. The decision is due to some issues with the digital instrument cluster in cars manufactured between September 2022 and February 2023. Because sometimes the booting process of the instrument cluster was interrupted and the display turned off completely. To solve this problem, the company updates the software completely free of cost.
