Reliance Jio, one of India’s leading telecom operators, recently launched a 4G feature phone called JioBharat V2 4G, priced at Rs.999. Besides, the company has also announced attractive offers with this phone. And as a result, this telecom company has created panic in the Indian market. According to experts, this time 2G subscribers of Airtel and Vodafone Idea may be attracted to Jio. Another brokerage house said JioBharat V2 4G could help the company add around 100 million (10 crore) new subscribers. Also can increase market share in terms of revenue. Brokerage house JP Morgan has claimed in its report that Jio could force India’s Bharti Airtel and Vodafone Idea to stop raising tariff plan prices by introducing the new phone.
Incidentally, Jio launched the Jio Bharat V2 4G phone in India on Monday, and priced it at just Rs 999. Customers can buy this phone from July 7.
Note that only Jio network will support this device. And Jio entertainment apps like Jio Cinema, Jio Savan can be used. The company has launched a monthly prepaid plan of Rs 123 for the phone, with a validity of 28 days, and an annual plan with a one-year validity of Rs 1,234. Both plans of Jio are offering 0.5GB data per day along with unlimited voice calls. The company claims that it offers seven times more data at 31 percent cheaper than other companies’ plans.
Jio Bharat V2 4G may put other telecom operators in trouble
According to experts Jio Bharat V2 4G phone is going to capture the lower end market. JP Morgan said in its report, this phone has also worried Bharti Airtel. Because they increased the price of their 2G plan from 99 taka to 155 taka a few days ago. They thought that Jio is no longer working on 2G, and Vodafone Idea is constantly losing customers. In such a case increasing the price of the plan will increase the income. But this time the sky has fallen on Airtel’s head. And so they may not increase tariff prices in the next 12 to 18 months.
25 crore Indians will benefit
“Jio Bharat Platform” launched with Jio Bharat V2 phone. Which is an open platform i.e. it can be used by any company or individual. Using this, other companies will also get a chance to launch 4G cheaply. This will ease the shift of 25 crore Indians from 2G to 4G. Experts expect that this 4G mobile of Jio will soon replace 2G feature phones in India.
