The iPhone 12 is reportedly scheduled to launch in September, while some reports suggest that the launch might be delayed a few months because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Apple analyst Ming-chi Kuo reportedly has released an investor note with some bad news.
No Charger and Earpods in iPhone 12 Box
According to Kuo, Apple will ship the iPhone 12 without EarPods and a power adapter in the box. A few days back a lot of reports came suggesting no Earpods in the box. The company might be thinking of increasing Apple Airpods sale with this move. However, the lack of a power adapter too in the box is shocking.
The absence of Charger and Earpods in the box is because of pricing reasons. Due to 5G support in Apple iPhone 12, the cost of the smartphone is significantly higher. According to reports, Apple will launch the iPhone 12 series in a similar price range as iPhone 11 series. Removing EarPods and the power adapter might be done to achieve this price range.
Kuo says Apple will soon stop production of its 5W and 18W adapters and will sell the new 20W fast charger instead. The design and size of this new 20W adapter are likely to be similar to the 18W adapter that the company includes with the iPhone 11 Pro and Pro Max.
The lack of a power adapter was also previously reported by analysts at Barclays. Kuo’s note confirms that information, making it much more likely to be accurate. He also says in his note that Apple iPad Air, iPad, and iPad Mini will continue including a 12W power adapter.
