The Indian government has banned more 43 Chinese Apps including AliExpress, CamCard, Taobao Live from the Indian Playstore. The government official said these apps were “engaging in activities which are prejudicial to sovereignty and integrity of India. Earlier, The Indian government had banned a total of 59 Chinese Apps back in June and more than 117 Chinese Apps in September.
As per the statement of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, the government has imposed the ban under the provisions of Section 69A of the Information Technology Action.
The officials said: “This action was taken based on the inputs regarding these apps for engaging in activities which are prejudicial to sovereignty and integrity of India, defence of India, the security of the state and public order,”
The ministry also said that it had issued the order for blocking access of these Chinese apps by users in the country based on “comprehensive reports received from Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Center, Ministry of Home Affairs.”
As earlier mentioned, The Indian government had also banned 59 apps which included TikTok, Shareit, UC Browser, and WeChat back in June and 118 apps including PUBG Mobile and PUBG Mobile Lite in September. Recently, More 47 Apps also got banned from the play store because these applications were almost the same copy of the already banned apps.
However, the Indian government hasn’t shared any particular information as, why these Chinese apps getting banned from Indian Playstore.
