It was found that after 54 days, the messaging platform started informing users that WhatsApp Mac's Electron app would stop working. Users will need to switch to the new Catalyst app to continue using WhatsApp on Mac desktop.
WhatsApp Catalyst will provide better performance and more security
WABetaInfo said the Catalyst app will offer users better performance and improved security. Also, users can enjoy the features in the new app better than the Electron-based version.

The Electron Framework app will stop working from the end of October and users will have to download the Catalyst desktop app for Mac from WhatsApp's website, the report said.
