With which Hyundai has announced a new record this time. The South Korean company said that in India, its car has touched the milestone of selling one million units. Hyundai Creta sales touch 10 lakh
Apart from the massive sales of this mid-size SUV Creta in the Indian market, Hyundai has also exported 2.8 million units abroad. In this context, the company’s COO Tarun Garg said, “Hyundai Creta has won the hearts of many Indian buyers and redefined the SUV segment. Currently, more than 1 million Creta SUVs ply on Indian roads.”
Garg added, “We are very grateful to those who have given their trust and love to Creta. This model will touch more milestones in the future.” Incidentally, the Creta will contribute 26.1% to Hyundai’s annual sales in the country by 2023. And last year the car had a share of 30.7% in the mid-size SUV segment.
Currently, Hyundai sells the second generation model of the car in India. The facelift version was launched last month. Meanwhile, 60,000 units have been booked, according to company sources. Hyundai Creta is currently priced between Tk 10.99 lakh to Tk 20.15 lakh (ex-showroom). Competitors in the market include Kia Seltos, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, Honda Elevate, Volkswagen Taigun, Skoda Kushaq and MG Astor.
The car is available in 1.5-litre MPi petrol, 1.5-litre Kappa Turbo GDi petrol and 1.5-litre U2 CRDi diesel engine options. Outputs are 115 ps and 144 nm, 160 ps and 253 nm and 116 ps and 250 nm respectively. The car is available in four transmission options – 6-speed MT, IVT automatic, 7-speed DCT automatic and 6-speed AT.
