Honda Elevate: Not Japan, this time Honda is selling the SUV made in India abroad

After shaking the Indian market, Honda Elevate has moved to South Africa. Honda manufactures the car in India and exports it there. It was launched in India in September last year. The car is providing oxygen to the Japanese company in terms of sales. So this time it is the company’s decision to launch the SUV model in the foreign market as well. The car has been priced in South Africa at Rs 3,69,900 (approximately Rs 15.92 lakh in Indian currency).

The question may arise in the mind of many people, what is the reason for the launch of Honda Elevate in South Africa? In fact, Indian buyers have a similar mindset when it comes to buying a car. People in both the countries demand more features and good mileage at a cheaper price. That’s why Made-in-India elevates Honda’s South African sales decision.

Honda Elevate enters the South African market

There is no difference in the design of the model launched in the country with the Indian Elevate. The front features a wide grille, topped with a chrome belt. A sleek LED head lamp with LED DRLs, fog lamps at the end of the bumper, skid plate under the bumper and an upright bonnet.

This car features 17-inch alloy wheels, side body skirting, chrome belt under the window frame, roof rails and chrome door handles. The rear features a connected tail lamp design, a shark fin antenna, roof spoiler, a sturdy skid plate and sporty bumper.

Interior and features

Honda Elevate’s interior features dual-tone dashboard layout, 8-inch touchscreen infotainment display (10.25-inch display in Indian version), leatherette seats, steering wheel and gear lever, 6-speaker audio system, automatic climate control, digital instrument cluster, wireless charging etc. Significantly, while the Indian model has Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) technology, it is absent from the South African model.

Specifications

The Honda Elevate is short on the powertrain of the City sedan. 1.5 liter petrol engine. It produces a maximum power of 121 PS and a torque of 145 Nm. The engine is mated to a 6-speed manual and CVT automatic transmission. The cost to buy this car in India is Rs 11.58 lakh to Rs 16.20 lakh (ex-showroom).
