Honda is known for the best sedan cars in India. The company's City model has already won the hearts of the countrymen for its comfort and engine refinement. Another of their sedans is the Amaze, the next generation model of which is rumored to be launched within this year. The new generation Amaze has been spotted testing on the country's roads for the first time, fueling speculation.
As evident from the leaked images, it will sport the looks of a compact sedan. A new design can be seen in the tail lamps. The biggest change will be in the interior of the car. The Japanese company may update the list of features with 360-degree camera, level-two advanced driver assistance system, dual digital display, power driver seat, sunroof, and ventilated seats.
The new generation Honda Amaze is expected to be launched by December. The car will have only one option of 1.2 liter engine. It will be able to produce 89 bhp of power and 110 Nm of torque. It will be mated to a five-speed manual transmission or CVT. Apart from the feature upgrade, Honda may go next level and add a CNG powertrain.
Although Honda offers CNG fitment at dealerships, Honda will have to bring factory-fitted CNG cars to stay in the fight with Maruti and Hyundai. Due to the rampage of SUVs across the country, the popularity of hatchbacks and sedans is waning. As a result, it remains to be seen how much oxygen the new-gen Amaze can provide in this segment.
