Hero’s handsome bike gets a new avatar to take on the Apache, the Pulsar, launched on June 14

Hero Xtreme 160R is being launched in the Indian market in a new avatar this month. June 14 is scheduled as the launch date. So far, Hero MotoCorp has not said anything specific about some of the bikes. An image of the upcoming model has just been revealed on the social media handle. From the looks of it, it could be the updated Xtreme 160R. Because the sports commuter bike with multiple updates was recently seen testing on Indian roads.

The new version of Hero Xtreme 160R will be launched next week

After its initial launch in 2020, the Hero Xtreme 160R is going to get the first major upgrade. The list may include new emission compliant engine, USD front fork, new instrument cluster, new color options and turn by turn navigation with Bluetooth connectivity. These features are currently seen in the Xtreme 160R Stealth 2.0 variant. This time the standard version is also going to get the said features.

How Hero Xtreme 160R is going to get updates

Among other changes, the two-valve engine may be replaced by a four-valve unit. Which will undoubtedly surprise the performance of Hero Xtreme 160R. The bike is powered by a 163cc single cylinder, air cooled engine that produces 15bhp of power at 8,500rpm and 14Nm of torque at 6,500rpm. It will be accompanied by a 5-speed gearbox. Speculations are rife that the engine is going to get oil cooling feature, but that can only be confirmed after the launch.

The Hero Xtreme 160R has been priced from Rs 1.18 lakh to Rs 1.30 lakh (ex-showroom) for the current model. It is believed that the price of the new version will be increased by Tk 10,000 to Tk 15,000. The bike has competitors in the country – TVS Apache RTR 160 4V, Bajaj Pulsar N160, Suzuki Gixxer, etc.
