The much awaited scooters Hero Xoom 125R and Hero Xoom 160 are launching in the Indian market within the next few months. Both these are premium models from Hero MotoCorp. Company CEO Niranjan Gupta recently confirmed the two scooters ahead of the Puja season. With the arrival of the new Hero Zoom, many 125cc scooties sold in India like the Ntorq and Activa models will face stiff competition.
Hero Xoom 125R and Hero Xoom 160 will be launched this year
Hero Motocorp has launched a bunch of two wheelers under the new strategy in the financial year 2023-24. At that time, the company entered the premium two-wheeler segment. This time they are going to increase the range of premium models through the launch of Hero Xoom 125R and Hero Xoom 160. The two scooters were first unveiled at the Milan Motorcycle Show last year. They then made their India debut at the Hero World event in January this year.
On the other hand, Hero may launch the cheapest variant of the Vida V1 electric scooter by the end of 2024. Various reports have claimed so. In a statement, Niranjan Gupta, CO of Hero MotoCorp said, “We will continue the process of increasing market share through the launch of various models in the premium and 125 cc segments in 2024. With the launch of Xoom 125R and Hero Xoom 160, we are going to further strengthen the scooter portfolio.”
Gupta added, “More electric vehicles will be launched in the mid and cheap segments in the future.” Incidentally, the Hero Xoom 160 is a maxi scooter with a rugged design in terms of style. 14 inch wheels and block pattern tires are present in this huge looking scooter. It can use 156 cc single cylinder air cooled engine.
Again the sporty looking Hero Xoom 125R will be positioned above the Xoom 110 in the company's portfolio. It also has 14 inch wheels. Notable features include full digital instrument console. The power source is a 125 cc, single cylinder, air cooled motor. The competition list of the scooter in the market includes Aprilia SR125, TVS NTorq 125, Suzuki Avenis 125 etc.
