Upcoming flagship smartphones like the Oppo Find X8 series, Realme GT6 Pro and OnePlus 13 are set to come with a massive 6,000 mAh battery.
Oppo, Realme and OnePlus are gearing up to launch their next generation flagship devices. A source recently revealed that the flagship Oppo Find X8 series, next-generation book-style foldable, Realme GT6 Pro and OnePlus 13 smartphones will feature a massive 6,000 mAh capacity battery. The devices are expected to be heavier than the previous models due to the larger battery. All the mentioned smartphones are rumored to be launched in the second half of this year.
The high capacity battery could increase the weight of upcoming Oppo, Realme and OnePlus brand flagships
If the speculation of using bigger batteries comes true, the weight of the phones will increase significantly. Incidentally, the current generation Oppo Find X7 and Oppo Find X7 Ultra both come with 5,000 mAh batteries, while the Realme GT5 Pro and OnePlus 12 handsets pack a larger 5,400 mAh battery. All these devices weigh between 202 grams and 224 grams. But without any changes like using lighter materials in the body, the devices will add a bit more weight with an additional 600 mAh to 1,000 mAh capacity.
Another recent report suggests that the Oppo Find X8 series will hit the market in October. That means it will hit the market a few months earlier than its predecessor, which was launched in January. The Find X8 series is expected to use both Dimensity and Snapdragon chips. Earlier, Qualcomm's Chief Marketing Officer revealed that the company will host the Snapdragon Summit in October and will unveil the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chipset at the event. Oppo is likely planning to release the next Find series flagship smartphones after the Snapdragon Summit, which will include the new chipset.
Some previous reports have claimed that Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 powered flagships will need larger batteries to maintain or improve battery life, as the chipset consumes more power than its predecessor. Based on what is known so far, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 processor will have a performance core speed of up to 4.2 GHz and will be accompanied by an Adreno 830 GPU (an upgraded version of the Adreno 750 GPU). The MediaTek Dimensity 9400 chipset, on the other hand, has one Cortex-X5 Prime CPU core, three Cortex-X4 Prime CPU cores and four Cortex-A720 Performance CPU cores.
