Will the cheaper Samsung Galaxy S23 FE beat the market? Company’s new move to reduce prices

Samsung unveiled its flagship S-series smartphones last February. Under this Galaxy S23 series come the standard S23, S23+ and S23 Ultra models. However, the South Korean company is currently planning to add a relatively affordable Fan Edition to its lineup. This dual model named Samsung Galaxy S23 FE may be launched in the market at the end of this year. The device is said to be powered by the company’s own Exynos 2200 processor. However, it is believed that no Qualcomm Snapdragon version will come to the market.

Samsung Galaxy S23 FE may launch in a single processor variant

The Samsung Galaxy S23 FE is rumored to use only the Exynos 2200 processor instead of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 processor, which could be a strategic move by Samsung to cut costs and increase profits. However, considering the relatively poor performance of the Samsung Galaxy S22 series powered by the same Exynos 2200 chipset, the company’s decision is expected to have a negative impact on the sales of the Galaxy S23 FE.

Other leaked specifications of the Samsung Galaxy S23 FE have been shared by well-known tipster Revegnus. It is known that the device will have 6 GB or 8 GB of LPDDR5 RAM, which will work at a speedy 6.4 Gbps. Storage options are expected to include 128GB or 256GB of UFS 3.1 memory.

In terms of cameras, the main camera on the rear panel of the Samsung Galaxy S23 FE is said to feature a 50-megapixel sensor with a pixel size of 1.0 micrometers (GN3). Apart from this, the device is expected to include an 8-megapixel telephoto sensor with 3x optical zoom and 1.0 micrometer (HI-374) pixel size, and a 12-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens with 1.12 micrometer (IMX258) pixel size. And the front of the phone is said to have a 12 megapixel sensor with 1.12 micrometer pixel size.

Also, recent reports have also highlighted the software development of the European version of the Galaxy S23 FE. Firmware testing has started for the device, specifically for the SM-S711B model number. However, no firmware has been spotted yet for the US and South Korean variants. As the Samsung Galaxy S23 FE is currently in the testing phase, it is expected that its launch is still some time away, it probably won’t hit the market before early 2024. However, it is rumored that Samsung will launch the much-awaited flagship devices like Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Galaxy Z Fold 5 by the end of the upcoming July.
