As several reports have already revealed, Xiaomi is gearing up to enter the growing clamshell foldable smartphone market with its new Xiaomi Mix Flip phone. Some key features of the device have also been leaked. It received approval from MIIT last January, which indicated the presence of satellite connectivity. Now a reliable tipster has shared new information about Xiaomi Mix Flip on social media.
Xiaomi Mix Flip will not have satellite communication technology
Digital Chat Station (DCS) said in its Weibo post that Xiaomi has not finally added satellite communication to the Mix Flip. However, the foldable clamshell phone is going to come with a telephoto camera and a bigger battery. The tipster, however, did not reveal the battery capacity. However, he had earlier revealed that the phone will have a telephoto unit with a 50-megapixel primary lens and 3x zoom. While the Xiaomi Mix Flip’s cover screen and camera module are similar to other clamshell foldables, the primary screen is claimed to have less creases.
The Xiaomi Mix Flip is expected to launch alongside the Mix Fold 4. In the foldable segment, Xiaomi and Honor have only launched book-style phones so far. There, brands like Samsung, Oppo, Vivo and Huawei offer both clamshell and horizontal folding phones. DCS says that the Xiaomi Mix Fold 4 will be extremely slim and light. It may have a 50-megapixel quad-camera setup with a periscope lens.
Notably, Xiaomi Mix Flip and Xiaomi Mix Fold 4 – both are rumored to be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. Xiaomi is yet to officially confirm the existence of Mix Flip and Mix Fold 4. But more is expected to be known about them in the near future.
