Xiaomi is gearing up for their next flagship smartphone series. The lineup will reportedly include Standard, Pro and Ultra models. While the Ultra model will be launched next year, camera details have already been leaked.
Xiaomi is expected to launch their upcoming flagship Xiaomi 15 series base models Xiaomi 15 and Xiaomi 15 Pro later this year. On the other hand, a well-known tipster said that the Xiaomi 15 Ultra model will be launched early next year and will have an improved camera system. Let's find out what information has emerged about the camera specifications of the Xiaomi 15 Ultra model.
Xiaomi 15 Ultra Phone Camera Specifications
Tipster Digital Chat Station reported that the company is testing two configurations for the Xiaomi 15 Ultra handset. One setup includes a quad-camera system, housing a 200-megapixel periscope telephoto lens. It was launched in June based on the Samsung ISOCell HP9 sensor. Vivo X100 Ultra also uses this sensor. Incidentally, this information was claimed by tipster Ice Universe last week. He also mentioned that the Ultra model will have a 200-megapixel sensor and a quad-camera setup.
Notably, the ISOCELL HP9 sensor stands out for its 1/1.4-inch optical format and 200 million pixels, each measuring 0.56 micrometers. This high pixel density enables the capture of images rich in details. It uses tetra-pixel technology and can combine pixels in a 4×4 configuration, resulting in a 12-megapixel sensor with larger 2.24 micrometer pixels, which captures more light for clearer, brighter images with bokeh effects as well as improved low-light photography.
In addition, the HP9 sensor features a remosaic algorithm that provides 2x or 4x in-sensor zoom modes. When combined with a 2x optical zoom telephoto module, it can achieve up to 12x zoom while maintaining image quality. The ISOCELL HP9 sensor also uses high-refractive-index micro-lenses, which focus light more precisely on RGB color filters. It improves light sensitivity by 12% and autofocus accuracy by 10% over its predecessor, resulting in better low-light performance and sharper, more vibrant photos.
The Xiaomi 14 Ultra, launched last year, has a quad-camera setup with impressive features, including a 50-megapixel primary camera with a 1-inch Sony LYT-900 sensor with variable aperture and Hyper OIS. It has a 50-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens and two telephoto cameras. They use the IMX858 sensor and support 8K video recording.
Xiaomi 15 Ultra Specifications (Probable)
Recent reports suggest that the Xiaomi 15 Ultra phone will feature a dual-layer OLED panel with 2K resolution and an ultrasonic on-screen fingerprint sensor. The device is expected to run on Android 15 based HyperOS 2.0 custom skin. Besides, it will have a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 processor, up to 24 GB of RAM and a 6,200 mAh battery. While the Xiaomi 15 Pro variant may not be released in the global market, the Xiaomi 15 and Xiaomi 15 Ultra are expected to launch in the global market.
