Apple is going to launch a new affordable iPhone model called iPhone SE 4 or iPhone 16e this year. It will be the successor to the iPhone SE 3 coming in 2022. Various reports have revealed that the device could be launched in April and its month production has started from the end of December. Mark Garman recently made the same claim.
Prominent journalist Mark said on microblogging platform X that iPhone SE 4 is going to be launched soon. If all goes well, Apple will take the wraps off the latest iPhone model at an affordable price on their schedule. That means this device can be launched in April itself. He also claims that this iPhone model will be launched before the iOS 18.4 operating system comes to the market. That means the iPhone SE 4 device may come with iOS 18.3.
iPhone SE 4 may be named iPhone 16e
Earlier a report claimed that Apple will launch its upcoming affordable model as iPhone 16e instead of iPhone SE 4. If this is indeed the case, then we may not see any new SE series phones coming to the market. Rather Apple may bring out a cheaper model of their premium series every year with 'e' branding.
Specifications of iPhone SE 4 or iPhone 16e
According to reports, the iPhone SE 4 or iPhone 16e device will come with an iPhone 8-like design with a notch. But being a toned down version of the iPhone 16 series, it will also offer a modern look. It is expected to feature a 6.06-inch OLED display, which is much larger than the 4.7-inch LCD display found on the previous SE model. The device will also have the feel of a high-end iPhone and support Face ID.
Also, the iPhone SE 4 or iPhone 16e may have the A18 chipset for performance. It will have more RAM along with the latest Apple Intelligence (AI) features. The new iPhone may have a 48-megapixel primary rear camera.
