Sony today (May 15) launched two new Xperia phones in the global smartphone market. These are the flagship grade Sony Xperia 1 VI and the Sony Xperia 10 VI, which is a mid-range device. Sony Xperia 10 VI: Specifications and Features
The Japanese brand continues its tradition of tall 21:9 aspect ratio screens and wide top and bottom bezels with the new Sony Xperia 10 VI phone. It has a 6.1-inch Triluminous OLED (OLED) display, which supports FullHD+ resolution and 60 Hz refresh rate. It is made up of Corning Gorilla Glass Victus. The smartphone is IP68-certified dust and water-resistant. For security, a side-mounted fingerprint scanner is embedded in the power button.
For photography, the Sony Xperia 10 VI has a minimalistic look with a pill-shaped camera module on the upper left side of the phone's rear panel. The module consists of two camera sensors sandwiched by an LED flash unit. The camera setup includes a 48-megapixel primary sensor with optical image stabilization (OIS) and an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens. Sony has dropped the telephoto unit from their predecessor models from the new model. For selfies and video calling, an 8-megapixel front-facing selfie camera sits on the front of the phone.
For audio, the Sony Xperia 10 VI is equipped with front-firing stereo speakers with 360 Reality Audio certified, DSEE Ultimate, stereo recording and aptX adaptive.
For performance, the Sony Xperia 10 VI phone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 processor, paired with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. Its storage can also be expanded via a microSD card slot. For power backup, the Sony Xperia 10 VI smartphone houses a 5,000mAh battery with 30W fast charging support. In terms of software, Sony Xperia 10 VI runs on Android 14 operating system. The device is said to receive three years of guaranteed OS updates and four years of security patches.
Sony Xperia 10 VI: Price and Availability
Sony Xperia 10 VI has been launched in Black, White and Blue color options. It will be available in the European and UK markets at a starting price of 399 Euros (approx. Rs. 36,130) and 349 pounds (approx. Rs. 36,810), respectively. The pre-order process for the phone is underway and it will be available for sale from mid-June. It is not yet known when Sony Xperia 10 VI will enter the Indian market.
