Renowned tipster Steve Hemmerstoffer (onlix) has released renders of the Sony Xperia 1 VI. As per the images, the overall design of the phone will be similar to its predecessor. On the right edge, a flat frame with volume rocker and power button can be seen. The fingerprint scanner is also believed to be embedded in the power button. And the dedicated camera shutter button will be located at the bottom right corner.

The Sony Xperia 1 VI will have a pill-shaped protruding camera module on the rear panel, which will be made up of three ZEISS lenses with a periscope sensor. The USB-C port and SIM tray slot can be seen at the bottom of the device and the 3.5mm headphone jack at the top.

While most of the latest Android smartphones feature bezel-less displays with punch-hole cutouts, Sony still launches phones with old-fashioned top and bottom bezels, which aren’t too wide. The Sony Xperia 1 VI is said to have a 6.5-inch display. The smartphone is expected to measure 161.9 x 74.5 x 8.4 mm. That is, it will be slightly smaller, wider and thicker than the Xperia 1V. The report also states that it may feature an aspect ratio of 19.5:9 instead of Sony’s usual 21:9.

Note that the leaked renders did not reveal any more information about the Sony Xperia 1 VI. However, recent reports suggest that the phone will sport a downgraded 2K resolution display instead of 4K. Leaked marketing materials reveal that the Sony Xperia 1 VI will feature a 48-megapixel primary, ultra-wide and periscope camera with an Exmor T sensor.
