Sony is going to launch a market-shaking smartphone with a powerful camera and 16 GB RAM

Sony has started preparing to launch its next generation Xperia smartphone this year. At least three models are expected to debut under this series this year – Sony Xperia 1 VI, Sony Xperia 5 VI and Sony Xperia 10 VI. A report ahead of the launch has leaked the RAM options of Sony’s new Xperia phones.

RAM variants of Sony Xperia 1 VI, Sony Xperia 5 VI and Sony Xperia 10 VI

As reported by Sumahodigest, the flagship Xperia 1 VI will be available in 12GB and 16GB RAM configurations. On the other hand, the Xperia 5 VI will be launched with 8 GB of memory, while the Xperia 10 VI will come with 6 GB and 8 GB of RAM. Apart from this, the report did not mention any other information about the specifications of the smartphones.

Although, nothing about the Xperia 5 VI and Xperia 10 VI is available as yet, but some information about the upcoming flagship is already known, especially about the camera. As per previous reports, the Xperia 1 VI’s rear panel will feature a 48-megapixel Exmor T sensor on all three cameras. This is the same sensor found in the Xperia 1V’s primary camera.

To be precise, the Exmor T sensor is a 52-megapixel camera sensor, however, images are limited to 48-megapixels due to the 4.3:3 aspect ratio. Sony calls this a stacked sensor, as the brand has been able to separate the photodiodes and transistors and stack them on top of each other to improve the amount of light captured and reduce noise levels.

Besides, the main lens of the Sony Xperia 1 VI is said to have a large f/1.4 aperture, 2x optical zoom and dual-phase detection autofocus. It is also expected to support 1,080-pixel video recording with Electronic Image Stabilization (EIS).

The Sony Xperia 1 VI’s ultra-wide camera will come with a focal length of 14-18mm and has on-chip autofocus. The telephoto lens is said to offer 6x zoom, but it is speculated that the 6x zoom will likely be achieved through sensor cropping. Because the native optical zoom is set to 3x. As the launch approaches, it is expected that various important information about the Sony Xperia 1 VI as well as the other two Xperia phones will emerge.
