Smartphones now in the possession of AI, we will witness a lot of surprises throughout the year

Leading global telecommunications provider, ZTE Corporation has jumped on the latest AI bandwagon by focusing more on artificial intelligence (AI) enabled smartphones. During ZTE’s 2023 performance briefing, officials also announced plans to expand their AI mobile phone lineup in addition to upcoming releases scheduled throughout the year. In April, ZTE is expected to launch several new Nubia-branded AI mobile phones. Besides, the flagship AI phone could hit the market in the middle of the year.

ZTE will launch multiple Nubia AI phones this year

The upcoming AI-powered devices powered by the ZTE Nebula OS system will be connected to the Central AI platform, which will use big models, big data and 3D technologies. ZTE promises full-stack AI integration in terms of imaging, performance and security features. The company has already launched several innovative products this year. Last February, the company launched the Nubia Flip 5G foldable phone and the Nubia Pad 3D Ⅱ tablet. Besides, they unveiled the Nubia Focus 5G and Pro 5G along with the China-exclusive Nubia Z60 Ultra smartphone.

ZTE’s commitment to innovation is reflected in their robust 2023 Annual Report. The company reported a gross profit of 9.325 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 15.41%. Total operating income in 2023 was 124.2509 billion yuan, an increase of 1.05% over the previous year.

In 2023, ZTE Group’s gross profit amounted to 41.53%, an increase of 4.34 percent year-on-year. The improvement was largely due to better gross profit margins across ZTE’s core businesses, including operator network, government and enterprise and consumer businesses. In addition, operating costs fell 5.93% to 72.6503 billion yuan, primarily due to cost reductions in the government, enterprise and consumer business sectors. This improvement in financials indicates that ZTE may invest in the competitive AI mobile phone market in the near future
