The fact of the matter is that many smartphones in the market now come with a water resistant rating. Although these types of phones are not completely waterproof, they are rated up to IP67/IP68. As a result, the phones do not get damaged if they get wet in the rain, splashed in the bathroom/basin or even dropped in the pool. But without further ado let's know about some of the best phones with water resistant rating that can be bought effortlessly.

Keep these things in mind while buying a waterproof phone

Remember, buying a waterproof phone doesn't mean that it won't be damaged by water. Recently our Techgap member had issues with the charging port on his 'S' series Samsung Galaxy phone despite having an IP68 rating. Moreover, the water resistance of two phones with such ratings may differ. For example, the IP68-rated iPhone 15 smartphone can survive in 6 meters of water for 30 minutes, while the Samsung Galaxy S24 can only survive in 1.5 meters of water for half an hour. That is, the water-resistance of the iPhone is higher than that.

Manufacturers, on the other hand, clearly state that such ratings only apply to fresh water, not salt or seawater. Even with other liquids such as cold drinks or alcohol, the waterproof rating won't work.
