Popular smartphone brand Honor has been planning to make a comeback in the Indian market for a while now and the move by the company is expected to materialize soon. The former sub-brand of Huawei was once very popular among consumers in the country and also dominated the Indian smartphone market. So it can be assumed that the popularity of this Chinese brand among the consumers of this country remains small. But there is one thing that makes Honor’s return to India even more remarkable. Rumor has it that the former CEO of Realme India himself, Madhav Seth, is set to join as the head of Honor’s Indian arm.
Honor may return to India with the former head of Realme India
Madhav Seth has filed a new trademark for “Honor for Knights”. The product description for the trademark mentions mobile phones and accessories, which strongly suggests that the brand is making a comeback in the Indian smartphone market. Tipster Mukul Sharma claims that Honor’s return to India could be as early as August. Another clue comes from Madhav Seth’s Twitter bio, where the phrase “When is night coming?” was recently added. All these directions indicate that Honor India will return and will be led by Madhav Sheth.
Let it be known, since Seth announced his exit from Realme India last June, speculations about him joining Honor started. However, neither party has made any clear statement on the matter. However, these sources have now added fuel to the fire of this speculation.
Incidentally, Honor was known for launching budget and mid-range smartphones. A variety of products including smartphones, tablets, smartwatches and fitness bands can be manufactured. However, the company suffered a major setback after the US government blocked Huawei from accessing Google Services. It was also reported that Honor was officially exiting the Indian smartphone market, but the company later denied it.
Notably, most of Honor’s products launched in the country till 2021 were smartwatches and tablets, such as Honor Watch ES and Honor Pad 5. The brand’s last smartphone in India was the Honor 9A, which launched for under Rs 10,000. Honor also launched the MagicBook X14 laptop in India earlier this year. But in this country, the brand has moved away from promotion. But it is expected that the company will soon appear in the market of this country with their new products in full swing.
