After much speculation, Samsung has finally launched its much awaited A-series smartphones, Samsung Galaxy A55 and Samsung Galaxy A35 in global markets including India. These two latest mid-range phones from the company are almost identical in terms of core specifications, but retain their uniqueness due to a few features. Galaxy A55 comes with premium build, comparatively powerful chip and better camera. It has an AMOLED display, Exynos 1480 processor, 50 megapixel triple camera and a powerful 5,000 mAh battery. Samsung Galaxy A55: Specifications and Features
The Samsung Galaxy A55 offers a premium build compared to other A-series phones like its predecessor, the Galaxy A54. It has glass back and metallic frame. However, like other new A-series models, this phone also features a new ‘key-island’ design. The key island is a raised section on the left side of the frame, which houses the power and volume buttons.
On the front, the Samsung Galaxy A55 features a 6.6-inch punch-hole Super AMOLED display protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus. The panel offers a FullHD+ resolution of 2,340 x 1,080 pixels and a 120Hz refresh rate. The device is powered by the new Exynos 1480 processor with AMD RD NA2-based Xclipse 530 GPU. This chipset is paired with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.
In terms of photography, the Samsung Galaxy A55 has a triple camera system on the back, housing an optical image stabilization (OIS)-assisted 50-megapixel primary sensor, a 12-megapixel ultrawide lens and a 5-megapixel macro sensor. And for selfies and video calling, there is a 32-megapixel selfie camera on the front of the phone.
Besides, this new Samsung phone runs One UI 6.1 custom skin based on the latest Android 14. The company promises that it will receive four major OS updates and five years of security updates. The Samsung Galaxy A55 comes with an IP67 rated chassis for dust and water resistance. It also offers an in-screen fingerprint sensor and dual stereo speakers. Finally for power backup, the device uses a 5,000mAh battery with 25W wired fast charging support.
Samsung Galaxy A55 Price and Availability
The Samsung Galaxy A55 is available in four attractive colors – Ice Blue, Lemon, Lilac and Navy. In the European market, the base 8 GB RAM + 128 GB storage model of the phone has been priced at 480 Euros (about Tk 43,500). Also, the device will be available in 8GB RAM + 256GB storage and 12GB RAM + 256GB storage variants. Samsung has not yet disclosed the price in the Indian market.
