Redmi is launching a new phone at the beginning of the new year. According to reports, the company is currently working on the Redmi A5 5G. It was recently spotted in the IMEI database. From here the name and model number of this phone is known. The new Redmi A series phone can come as a budget phone. It will be launched as the successor to Redmi A4 5G, which came with Snapdragon 4s Gen 2 chipset in November last year. Redmi A5 5G is expected to be available in global markets including India.

Tipster Erkenkan Yilmaz (@erenylmaz075) spotted the Redmi A5 5G in the IMEI database and shared a screenshot on the X platform. The screenshot reveals the device name along with its model number 25028RN03Y. The tipster claims that it will be available in the global market and in the Indian market, and will come as a Poco-branded handset in some markets. Redmi A4 5G Price and Features
The 4GB + 64GB storage variant of the Redmi A4 5G device is priced at Rs 8,499 in India, while the 4GB + 128GB variant is priced at Rs 9,499.
Talking about the features, the Redmi A4 5G device runs on Android 14 based HyperOS custom skin and has a 6.88-inch HD Plus (720×1640 pixels) LCD display with 120Hz refresh rate. It uses Snapdragon 4s Gen 2 chip for performance. For photography, there is a dual rear camera setup, featuring a 50-megapixel primary camera. For selfies, it will have a 5-megapixel selfie camera. It packs a 5160mAh battery with 18W charging support.
